Marriage in Alyth of a Peter Anderson and Jessie Stirling dated as 23rd August 1869, and Peter Anderson and Catherine Young at Blairgowrie on 3rd June 1857.

Here there is mention of a James Anderson, Black Watch....Enlisted 1897. Served in South African War,...1900 - 1902 (Queen's medal, with clasps "Cape Colony," "Paardeberg," "Driefontein," "Wittebergen," and "Transvaal"; King's medal, with clasps "South Africa, 1901," and "South Africa, 1902").
