Canadian Attestation Papers –

John Irvine, b. Glasgow, Scotland, next of kin – Mrs J Irvine of Craigie, Blairgowrie.  Born 23 June 1881. Occupation Teguister (?).  Not married.  Had spent 7 years with the 135 King’s Own Scottish Borderers.

Regimental number 6691, signed up on 22^nd Sept. 1914.  He was 33 years and two months, 5 ft. 6 ¾ inches tall; girth when fully extended was 37 ½ inches (range of expansion 3 ½ inches); complexion medium; eyes blue; hair brown.  Church of England. Tattoo of woman and dog on right forearm.
