Family information:- Son of Alexander and Isobel Aytoun-Young. In the 1881 census Alexander Snr. was living at 13 Rosslyn Street, Dysart, Fife. He was the head lodger, and was listed as a minister E C Sinclair. I have no idea what that was! He was born in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.

Alexander Aytoun Young was the son of the Rev.A.A. Young of Clunie Manse, Clunie, Blairgowrie. He was a pupil at Blairgowrie High School, and left on 28th June, 1912. He was born on 15th October, 1894.

The "London Gazette" on Wednesday announced that temporary Second-Lieutenant Alexander Aytoun Young, Lincoln Regiment, has been promoted Second-Lieutenant in special reserve of officers for the Black Watch.
